This is the personal website of Hermione Evans, a private Chartered Physiotherapist and complementary physiotherapist specialising in physiotherapy, cranio sacral therapy, yoga as therapy, reiki, reflextherapy and visceral manipulation.

Hermione Evans works exclusively from Sonning Common Health Centre, a GP practice located between Reading and Henley on the Berkshire - Oxfordshire border.
She is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), as well as PhysioFirst (The Organisation of Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice) and has been a Chartered Physiotherapist for over 30 years, having graduated with distinction from The Royal London Hospital. She has worked at home and abroad in many hospital specialities, but in recent years has specialised in the treatment of chronic and acute pain, particularly pain associated with the spine and head. Having herself once been a sufferer of chronic pain, she values the way in which complementary therapies integrated into the physiotherapy care plan can help in the healing of the whole person, body , mind and spirit.

In recent years she was Occupational Health Physiotherapist at BBC Monitoring and has specialist knowledge of problems associated with the workplace environment. She is particularly able to help with RSI – Repetitive Strain Injury, sometimes known as WRULD (Work Related Upper Limb Disorder).

Before coming to Sonning Common she also worked at The Reading Sports Injury Clinic under the clinical direction of Dr Peter Thomas, specialist sports medicine consultant and Olympic Team Physician. The clinic also boasted a pain management team under the auspices of Dr Steve Allen with whom Hermione worked closely.

She has assisted in research into Reflexology and asthma and is on the Education Committee of ACPIRT (The Association of Chartered Physiotherapist in Reflextherapy). She has also assisted in an exercise based Back Pain Trial with York University, has been a contributor to the book, ‘Complementary Therapies for Physical Therapists’ (edited by Bob Charman. published by Butterworth-Heinemann Oxford England in 2000) and is an associate tutor with the Midland School of Reflextherapy, whose Principal, Christine Jones, is a fellow of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. This course is endorsed and validated by both the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Coventry University.

In 2004 she was invited to write the forward to a German text book on Complementary Medicine (Angewandte Physiologie. 5 - Komplementaire Therapien verstehen und integrieren. Ed. Frans van den Berg. Pub. Thieme). She has presented workshops to Health professionals and others, including The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Annual Congress in October 2001.
